The Historic Districts are a source of great civic pride and recognized
as being an asset to our community. We recognize the important part
that our district plays in Concord's history as well as preserving
a unique quality of life.
The Concord Historic Preservation Commission offers a handbook
to residents as a guide and we encourage its use when property improvements
are considered. It is not meant to limit ideas but rather act as
a catalyst for creative design solutions that allow for individual
interpretation while placing value on preservation.
This handbook was written in 1993 and updated in 2001. It has been
developed as a resource to aid property owners in the districts,
as well as, architects, builders, landscape architects, realtors
and others who are involved with any project that will have an impact
on any property or structure within the districts.
Together, as members of this unique community, we have a responsibility
to respect our past as we progress forward.
